Ingredients
For the Donut Bites
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough, 8-count.
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted.
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar.
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon.
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, optional.
- Pinch of salt.
For the Vanilla Glaze
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar.
- 1 tablespoon milk.
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
- Pinch of salt.
Directions
1. Prep the dough.
Separate the refrigerated biscuits and cut each biscuit into 4 equal pieces. Gently roll each piece between your hands to form a ball.
2. Make the cinnamon sugar.
In a shallow bowl, stir together the granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Set aside.
3. Prep the air fryer.
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F. Place an air fryer liner in the basket according to its directions.
4. Air fry the donut bites.
Arrange the dough balls in a single layer, leaving a little space between each one. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to work in batches. Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, turning halfway through, until puffed and golden brown.
5. Coat with butter.
While the donut bites are still warm, lightly toss or brush them with the melted butter.
6. Add the cinnamon sugar.
Immediately roll the buttered donut bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture until generously coated on all sides.
7. Make the vanilla glaze.
Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and a pinch of salt until smooth. Add another splash of milk if needed to reach a drizzle consistency.
8. Serve warm.
Pile the warm donut bites onto a serving plate and drizzle with vanilla glaze, or serve the glaze on the side for dipping.
Tips
Don't overcrowd the air fryer basket. Leaving space around the dough allows the hot air to circulate and helps the donut bites become evenly golden.
Coat the bites while they're still warm. The melted butter and cinnamon sugar will stick much better before they cool.
For an extra fall twist, replace the cinnamon with pumpkin pie spice or add a tablespoon of maple syrup to the vanilla glaze.
These are best eaten warm and fresh from the air fryer. If you have leftovers, reheat them for 1 to 2 minutes in the air fryer to bring back some of that fresh-baked texture.
Phantom Tip: Use Phantom Chef Air Fryer Liners to make this already-simple recipe even easier. They help keep melted butter, cinnamon sugar, and glaze drips contained so you can spend more time eating the donut bites and less time cleaning the basket.
